Lookah Q7 Mini Review: E Rig or E Nail? A Comprehensive Explanation

Updated: May 6, 2024

Lookah Q7 Mini E Nail Vaporizer

The Lookah Q7 Mini E Nail Banger is a new device for vapourizing wax made by Lookah. The company is known for making inexpensive units that get the job done. The Q7 Mini is their latest E Rig, and it’s designed to be easy to use while you’re on the go. It’s small and simple, making it a good choice for people new to vaping or who don’t want something complicated.

It’s considered an E Nail because it doesn’t come with its own bubbler, but when attaching your favourite glass piece, it does work just like an E Rig.

In this Lookah Q7 Mini review, we’ll examine the Mini Q7 closely, reviewing its features and how well it does the job. We’ll also compare it to other popular E-rigs to help you understand if it’s the right choice for you. So, let’s get started and see what the Mini Q7 is all about.

How it Works

Lookah Q7 Mini How it works

The Lookah Q7 Mini Enail Banger is not hard to use. Just like any other e-rigs, you need to follow some specific steps to use the Q7 Mini. Here’s how Lookah Mini Q7 works:

  • Step 1: Lift the magnetic flip cap and gently place a small amount of concentrates into the chamber.
  • Step 2: Power on the device by pressing the power button quickly 5 times within 2 seconds.
  • Step 3: Wait for the Light to flash 2 times, then click the power button twice to cycle through temperature settings.
  • Step 4: For up to 30 seconds, press and hold the power button to heat the atomizer and vapourize the wax.
  • Step 5: Inhale from the water pipe’s mouthpiece, adjusting the airflow by manipulating the carb on the flip cap as needed.

Keep in mind that as soon as you turn the unit on it will enter a preheat mode that lasts for 10 seconds. You will notice the unit countdown, after its done you can change the temperature and use manual mode by following the steps above.

Vapour Quality

Lookah Q7 Mini How it works

The Lookah Mini Q7 is a solid performer in the E Rig market. It heats up fast, so you’re not left waiting to enjoy your concentrates. The vapour it produces is decent, too—smooth enough, pretty tasty, and satisfying for casual users.

This little device uses a 710-thread quartz atomizer, which is known for delivering a cleaner taste. Four different coil types are available, giving you options to control your sessions to your liking. The coils are removable and replaceable, which is great for maintenance and longevity.

Now, it’s true that there are other e-rigs out there, like the Utillian 8, that might edge out the Q7 mini in vapour quality. The U8’s BurstHit 3D Chamber and ruby pearls are designed to maximize flavour and minimize waste, giving you dense clouds and a pure taste that’s hard to beat.

But the Mini Q7 holds its own. It’s meant to be more of a portable unit that can get the job done as opposed to a consistent unit for at-home use. It’s easy to use and maintain, making it a reliable choice for those who value quick and easy sessions without needing all the extra bells and whistles. So, while it might not be the absolute best in the vapour quality department, the Mini Q7 is still more than useful for the right person.

Manufacturing Quality

Lookah Q7 Mini E Nail Build quality

The Lookah Q7 Mini Enail is a testament to the brand’s commitment to quality and user experience. With its sleek, modern design, the Q7 Mini delivers on performance.

Its glass water filtration system is a nice feature that enhances the visual appeal and smoothness of each draw. The magnetic flip-top cap is a cool touch that simplifies the loading process and adds to the overall user-friendly experience.

The Lookah Q7 mini’s intuitive display adds to the user experience. It’s designed to be simple and clear, showing exactly what you need to know: how much battery life is left and what mode you’re in. This means you can keep track of your device’s status at a glance.

But it’s a different story when we talk about how well it’s made. Compared to other vapourizers in the market, the Mini doesn’t quite hit the mark.

The materials used in the Mini Q7 don’t feel as high-quality as you’d expect. It’s like when you pick up a gadget, and it just feels a bit off – maybe it’s too light, or the parts don’t fit together perfectly. That’s the feeling I have with the Q7 Mini. The Base feels a bit flimsy but I do like the way it fits on top of most bubblers.

Battery Life

Lookah Q7 Mini USB-C E Rig

When you’re picking out an E Nail, battery life is a big deal. You want something that’s going to last. The Lookah Q7 Mini comes with a 950mAh battery, which is pretty decent. It means you can get about 80 to 100 uses before you need to charge it again. That’s not bad, but when you look at other e-rigs, like the Utillian 8, you’ll see a difference.

The Utillian 8 has a 3150mAh battery that can last for several days, depending on how much you use it. That’s a lot of vaping before you need to plug it in. It’s also much larger, which is why users prefer it for at-home use.

The Lookah Q7 Mini has got a cool display that tells you how much battery you’ve got left and what mode you’re in. No more guessing or getting caught out with a dead battery. And if you forget to turn it off, no worries.

One of the convenient features of the Q7 Mini is its USB Type C Charging capability. This modern charging standard allows for faster power delivery and easier connection compared to older USB types. It’s a significant upgrade that means you can recharge your device more quickly and get back to using it without waiting forever.

So, the Q7 Mini’s battery is okay—it gets the job done. It might not last as long as some others, but it’s got features to keep you informed and help conserve power. This is just something to keep in mind when you’re deciding which E Rig to go for.

Temperature Flexibility

Lookah Q7 Mini E Nail Temperature Flexibility

The Lookah Q7 mini comes with three temperature settings, each shown with a different number:

  • Number 1 – 3.2V
  • Number 2 – 3.6V
  • Number 3 – 4.0V

You can adjust the temperature by clicking the power button twice. Within the settings, you will get the temperature between 350 to 450 degrees Fahrenheit

However, when you stack it up against something like the Core 2, which comes with four temperature settings and a broader range from 400° to 500° Fahrenheit, the Mini Q7 doesn’t quite generate that level of power.

So, while the Mini Q7 holds its own with basic temperature flexibility, it’s just okay compared to the more advanced options out there. It’s a good fit if you’re looking for simplicity and ease of use, but for those who crave a bit more control, there are other rigs that might better suit your needs.

Portability

Lookah Q7 Mini Portability

While more portable than a traditional rig, the Q7 Mini doesn’t quite hit the mark of being discreet or pocket-friendly. It’s the kind of device that’s better suited for a backpack or a larger purse rather than slipping into your jeans pocket. And while some E Rigs come with nifty carrying cases, they often don’t account for the sticky aftermath of a wax tool, leaving you to deal with residue that’s eager to make friends with the fabric.

When it comes to taking your session on the go, the Lookah Q7 Mini is a bit of a mixed bag. Sure, E-Rigs and Nails have come a long way, but they still can’t match a Wax Pen’s grab-and-go convenience.

Comparatively, the Utillian 8 tries to ease the portability pain with its zirconia carb cap/wax tool that nests neatly within the heating chamber. This design choice means you can tote it around in its case without the mess. But even then, if you’re after the ultimate in portability, a wax pen like the Utillian 5 might be more up your alley. You can also pair it with its own Glass Bubbler if you really want water filtration.

So, while the Lookah Q7 Mini does offer some degree of portability, it’s not the easiest unit to use on the go. The Q7 Mini is better reserved for those who don’t mind a little extra bulk in exchange for its performance and features.

Ease of Use

Lookah Q7 Mini Ease of Use

The Lookah Q7 Mini is designed to be more accessible than traditional rigs, and while it may not be as straightforward as a dab pen, it certainly simplifies the process for both newcomers and seasoned users.

The Q7 Mini’s interface is intuitive, with clear LED indicators that guide you through temperature settings and battery life. The device’s simplicity is one of its strong suits, allowing you to enjoy your session without fussing over complicated controls. The double-click feature to adjust voltage levels is a breeze, making it easy to switch between modes for the perfect hit.

The Magnetic Cap is always a great feature to see since it just makes the loading process super simple and reduces the chance of errors. So, the Lookah Q7 Mini is easy to use, well enough for beginners at least. It may take a few tries to really unlock its full potential but will get the job done one way or another.

Overall Experience

How good is the Lookah Q7 Mini?

From the moment you pick up the Q7 Mini, you’ll notice its sleek design and intuitive features. The magnetic flip cap and the ergonomic mouthpiece really make this unit feel nice. It’s these small touches that make the Mini Q7 stand out, especially for a Lookah product, which in general, makes cheap vapourizers.

However, it’s not without its drawbacks. The build quality, while robust, doesn’t quite match up to some of its competitors, like the Utillian 8, which boasts a more premium feel. And while the battery life is decent, it doesn’t hold a candle to the longevity offered by some other E Rigs & E Nails on the market.

The Q7 Mini is competent in terms of portability, but it’s not the most discreet option available. If you’re looking for something to use on the go, you might find the Mini Q7 a bit bulky compared to more portable alternatives.
