Utillian 722 vs Arizer Air 2 – 2 Air or Not 2 Air?
The Arizer Air 2 was released in 2017 and, just like the rest of the Arizer line, it is a great device, packed with solid features that culminate in some tasty vapour. The Utillian 722 was released in 2019 as the sleeker younger brother to the fan-favourite Utillian 721. There is a lot to like about both units, so were going stack them up against each other in a vapourizer showdown.

Utillian 722 vs Arizer Air 2

Manufacturing QualityThe original Air had a couple of minor issues that were solved with the Air 2 update. The digital screen is a huge plus, it features faster heat up time, and offers full temperature control. It also features the same removable 18650 battery. The Air 2 also has an isolated airpath and the vapour only needs to travel through the glass stem. Arizer is known for making workhorse units, but the Utillian 722 is no slouch. With a sprayed aluminum finish, the unit is sturdy in the hand and can withstand a couple of bumps and drops. In fact, without the glass stem, Id say it is much more droppable than the Air 2 though we dont recommend you hold a drop test for your vapourizers. This is a tough contest, as both units are made well, and you can tell both companies thought about the design a lot. They are also both second iterations of existing units, and its very clear both companies took customer feedback into the design of their devices. The elegance of the Arizer Air 2 and its glass stem is the only thing that separates these two, for me. The Air 2 ekes out a point here. |

PortabilityWhile both units are similar in size, there is one major difference between the two, and that is the glass stem. An easily breakable component means bringing this device around with you will almost certainly require a vaporizer case. The Utillian 722 and its mouthpiece that swivels inward take up more space, but with a more compact form factor. For this reason, we give this one to the 722. |
Battery LifeThe Utillian 722 features a 2300mah internal battery that will yield roughly 60 minutes of use on average, the same as most vapourizers. The Air 2 has a removable 18650 battery that will last roughly 90 minutes of continuous use, and the added ability to swap the batteries and keep your vapourizer running all day long gives this category solidly to the Arizer Air 2. |
DiscreetnessSimilarly to portability, the glass stem of the Air 2 is the main problem in terms of discreetness. It sticks out, quite literally, and is more difficult to conceal in your palm. The 722 is certainly larger, but the mouthpiece swivels inward and could easily be mistaken for a power bank when tucked away. For this reason, we give this category to the Utillian 722. |
Temperature FlexibilityWhile most people wont change their temperature to the individual degree, the Arizer Air 2 offers more temperature options, giving you a range of 50° C/ 122°F 220° C/ 428°F, giving it the victory here. That being said, the Utillian 722 puts up a solid fight, featuring the temperatures people most use (180°C, 190°C, 200°C, 210°C) and the ability to boost up to a higher maximum temperature than the Air 2, 225°C. This added 5 degrees is excellent to finish off a session. |
ShowdownThe Utillian 722 is our winner! Both companies have been striving to make better and better vapourizers in recent years, and you cant really go wrong with either of these units. But the compact size profile, wide-open airflow, convection heating style, and higher maximum temperature make the Utillian 722 a more flexible, capable device that outputs a tremendous amount of vapour.
