Ghost MV1 vs Mighty
Vapour QualityBoth units are in the highest tier in terms of vapour quality. They both have intricate cooling systems, powerful heaters and deliver quality flavour. With that being said, the MV1 edges out a win in terms of vapour quality. The adjustable airflow, on-demand convection heater, and different materials are chosen lead to a purer flavour with larger instant hits. You also conserve more herb with the MV1 as it only uses the material when the heater is engaged similar to the Zeus Arc. The entire experience of on-demand and session is different as well, and ultimately it might come down to preference. In the end, though, I much prefer the flavour and power from the MV1. However, users who want to stick with the Mighty vapourizer usually tend to prefer the Zeus Iceborn that adds 2 extra points to the vapour quality. |
Manufacturing QualityBoth units have a very unique design compared to other dry herb vapes. The MV1 has a space-age, futuristic aesthetic like the Volcano Hybrid while the Mighty feels like something youd pick up out of your dad’s toolbox like the Crafty. The Mighty is much less finicky and feels much more durable than the MV1 however. Though its made of plastic, its extremely durable and feels nice in the hand. The MV1 while gorgeous leaves you scared about small drops, scratches, and even fingerprints. Both units come with a decent kit, however, the Mighty includes even more tools like an herb grinder, dosing capsule, filling tool, and more spare parts. Its also easier to set a Mighty with a water pipe adapter and bubbler than the MV1 if youre into that. Not to mention the proven reputation of the Mighty compared to the mixed track record the MV1 has, and we give the point to the Mighty in this category. |
Ease of UseThe MV1 has been notoriously hard for even experienced users to get the hang of. Between a finicky crucible system, sensitive to wrong pack and grind qualities as well as no on-board easy temperature control, and it doesnt even come close to the Mighty. The Mighty is dead simple to load. Regardless of grind quality, packing technique (most especially with the use of some Mighty dosing capsules) and draw technique, the Mighty will give terrific results every time. The onboard display makes selecting the right temperature a breeze compared to the MV1. Cleaning both units is, in fact, a tricky process compared to many other dry herb vapes like the Solo 2. Check out the cleaning tips for the Ghost MV1 and Mighty to get a better understanding of this process. For thorough cleaning, we highly recommend using the Zeus cleaning kit. Overall, the Mighty handily takes the point in terms of ease of use. No tricky draw or packing technique, dead easy capsule system, and simple temperature control give it a real win. |
PortabilityBoth units are definitely considered large in terms of portable vapourizers. With that in mind, the MV1 is much chunkier and heavier than the Mighty, which is around the same size as a large phone, just twice the width. Users looking for a smaller portable vapourizer usually tend to like the Utillian 722 Vaporizer. The Mighty handily takes the point in this category. It feels less fragile, easier to carry and fits smaller in the hand than the MV1 does. |
Battery LifeBoth carry large cells capable of around 10 sessions, depending on the temperature setting. As they both have different heating styles, its hard to make an exact comparison. With that being said, the Mighty does have pass-through charging while the MV1 doesnt. However, the fact the MV1 has a removable battery like the Arizer Air 2, while the Mightys is fixed dons the point towards the Ghost. |
DiscreetnessWhile neither device is particularly discreet at all, the Mighty with its all black construction tends to draw much less attention than the MV1 with its flashy design practically screaming look at me!. On the other hand, the Mighty takes around a minute to heat up while the MV1 takes a few seconds much better to take a quick hit from if you need to have a stealthy toke. Its a pretty well-matched category but the overall aesthetic and design of the Mighty make it much stealthier than its alien technology competitor. But we will chock this one up as a tie. Users who want higher discreetness may want to look at devices that are smaller in size like the LITL 1. |
Temperature FlexibilityThe Mighty has a temperature range from 40-210°C or 104-410°F, unlike the Flowermate V5 Nano. This is definitely good enough to get the most out of your herb and even experiment with other botanicals like lavender or chamomile. Its easy to adjust the temperature in individual increment using the onboard display. With that being said, concentrates arent quite as good with the Mighty as that type of material prefers a bit higher of a temperature. The MV1, on the other hand, has a range between 149-243°C, or 300-470°F. This comes at the price of having to use presets, which you can customize via the Bluetooth app. This in itself is an annoying process; however, you also get the benefit of a much higher max temp, which is much better for concentrates. Its difficult to choose a winner in this field as they both have their pros and cons, however, we ultimately like the higher setting on the MV1 for its better compatibility with concentrates. |
SHOWDOWNIn the end, theyre both terrific devices. The vapour quality on the MV1 always blows us away, but thats not to say the Mighty doesnt knock us out every time its used either. In the end, the Mighty takes the victory on a few aspects. Its a better rounded out device without needless complications and apps it just does what it needs to do, and extremely well. If you’re in need of a more in-depth look at this tried and true vapourizer, feel free to check out our Mighty vaporizer review before making a decision. If you use concentrates as much as the dry herb the Mighty is also exceptional in this regard. Its hard to go wrong with either unit, however, we found this Mighty dry herb vape to be our favourite between the two.
