How It Works
This unit is a pretty straightforward unit to use. Pressing the power button 5 times unlocks the unit so that pressing the power button engages the coil in the heating chamber. All you need to do then is load your botanical into the heating chamber, then drop the shield and mouthpiece on top, press the power button and inhale, but you won’t be inhaling the vapor.
Temperature Flexibility
Unlike the
Utillian 722 and other pen units, this gadget doesn’t have any temperature flexibility. The unit has one temperature setting that is engaged as long as you’re holding the power button. Other than moving air faster or slower through the heating chamber or only pressing the power button for short periods of time, you can’t control the temperature in the heating chamber.
Vapor Quality
The vapor quality from this unit is horrible for the simple fact that it doesn’t actually produce vapor. The unit is only capable of using one heat setting, and that heat setting combusts your dry botanical in the heating chamber no matter what you do.
Users that prefer smooth and strong vapors usually tend to lean towards devices like the Zeus Arc GT.
Manufacturing Quality
The unit is pretty well made as they’ve chosen to use a lot of high quality materials in the construction of this unit. The tank uses glass for the shell, metal for the 510 connection and a ceramic plate below a metal coil. The power button feels relatively sturdy and the and the only place where the unit feels relatively low quality is the mouthpiece which is made of plastic.
Users who are beginners and want to stick to the single temperature usually tend to prefer the Yocan Evolve Plus.
Battery Life
Like all pen vaporizers such as the
Utillian 421, this unit has a pretty good battery life. The unit’s battery lasts for somewhere around 2 hours of continuous use, which is pretty good even if the unit can’t actually vaporize with this unit. If you choose to take this unit around with you, you won’t find yourself having to charge it up too often.
Portability
Just like any pen vaporizer such as the
LITL1, this unit is really easy to carry around because of how small it is. The pen shape makes it easy to slip it into your pocket and carry it around with you without much of a problem. The glass around the heating coil might be cause for some concern, but the shield covers and protects the glass for the most part.
Ease of Use
Being a 1 button pen-style unit just like the Utillian 420 means this is really easy to use. The power button locks and unlocks the unit and the power button also engages the coil inside the heating chamber. Loading and unloading the heating chamber is the hardest part only because the combusted botanical can be difficult to fully get out of the chamber. Also, it’s impossible to use the unit as a vaporizer, which is its own issue, but still worth mentioning.
Discreetness
The look of this unit is pretty discreet unlike the
Mighty Vaporizer, though it doesn’t actually vaporize, so the smell of your combusted botanical will make this unit a lot less stealthy than it could be. Otherwise, this unit is pretty discreet as it’s small enough to fit pretty comfortably in your hand and is colored to blend in pretty well to its surroundings.
