Updated: September 26, 2024
The Pulsar Sipper Vapor Cup for Wax is compatible with 510 threaded Wax connections. Learn how this Vapor Hydrator Cup might be just for you.

The Pulsar Sipper Vapor Cup is a nice device produced by Pulsar, a renowned value manufacturer that has created an array of different vaporizers throughout the years. The company has been steady in adding good products to its portfolio.

The Sipper is the first Vapor Cup launched by Pulsar. This device allows users to enjoy a smooth water-filtered vapor hit. Equipped with a Triple Quartz Heating Element, as most Vapor Cups offer, it’s effective enough at vaporizing various types of Wax or 510 Threaded Concentrates

The aesthetic design and single-button operation make the Pulsar Sipper Vapor Cup a decent mid-ranged option for both beginners and experienced users.

Pulsar Sipper Vapor Cup Review

How the pulsar sipper vapor cup works

How it Works

Operating the Pulsar Sipper is simple and resembles the operation of most single-button Vapor Cups. Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to use the Pulsar Sipper:

  1. Load your material: For Wax, simply insert it into the heating chamber using the Wax tool. For the 510-threaded cartridge, unscrew the heating chamber and replace it with your cartridge.
  2. Turn On: Simply click the main button five times in quick succession to power it on.
  3. Choose Voltage: Just triple-click the main button to adjust the voltage levels. The LED light will display the selected voltage color.
  4. Start Producing Vapor: Press and hold the touch button to activate the heating element or double-click it rapidly to start the auto fan for 30 seconds.
  5. Inhale your Vapor: Hold the cup up to your mouth and inhale on it gently for the vapor to pass through the water, similar to how you would on an E Rig.

temperature flexibility of the pulsar sipper hydrator cup

Temperature Flexibility

In terms of its temperature variety, the Pulsar Sipper provides one of the higher max voltages in the Vapor Cup category at 4.2v, giving you slightly more range.
An LED light will indicate your current setting as the following:

Yellow – 2.5v
Blue – 3v
Green – 3.5v
Red – 4.2 v

As with any vaporizer, lower voltages produce better flavor and thinner vapor. Higher voltages produce denser vapor with slightly less flavor. You can experiment with different settings to find your sweet spot and try out the 4.2 Max voltage for the most amount of vapor production.

Vapor quality of the pulsar sipper vapor cup

Vapor Quality

The Pulsar Sipper delivers decent vapor quality thanks to its water-filtering system that comes out of the box. Generally speaking, Vapor Cups are meant for more chill sessions of sipping on vapor, similar to Dry Herb Vaporizers. However, the Pulsar Sipper comes with a bubbler cup, making it more like heavier-duty concentrate E Rigs

The device features a Glass Hydrator Cup that holds water and acts as a bubbler, cooling down and hydrating your vapor before it reaches your mouth. This results in smoother hits that are easier on your throat and lungs.

The water-filtered vapor also comes with a thinner texture. In conjunction with the upright nature of these bubblers, this makes the device’s cup less fit to sip on than standard Vapor Cups and more meant for hits like with any other bubbler. If you are looking for dense vapor, perfect for the Drinkable Vapor Experience, you might want to check out the Tronian Omegatron Vapor Cup. It features a Glass Core Heating Element, which performs better than the Triple Quartz that is standard among the touch button Vapor Cups.

The Sipper’s Triple Quartz Element heats up your waxes efficiently enough to produce a good amount of vapor, especially when considering the 4.2 max setting. The Pulsar Sipper is well-suited for individuals seeking to experience the benefits of the Hydrator Cup and prioritize smooth hits instead of chill sessions of sipping. It sounds a bit counterintuitive, given the Pulsar Sipper’s name, but it is what it is.

Pulsar sipper manufacturing quality

Manufacturing Quality

The Pulsar Sipper’s build quality is pretty good; it’s slightly better than the Hidr8 Ola, which is also reflected in its price tag. The device has a plastic base that houses the battery and the Triple Quartz Heating Element.

The glass cup is made from borosilicate glass, which is resistant to heat and shock. That being said, it is slightly longer than its competitors, which is due to the fact that it makes room for the water. The added space paired with the small hole on the bottom of the glass is necessary for a bubbler to work in this form factor, but at the same time, it allows 10 to 15% vapor to escape. This is expected with this type of bubbler or vapor hydration cup, however, and we have not seen a solution anywhere just yet.

In terms of its overall build quality, it is comparable to the Omegatron, which has the best heating and operating system. It is key to mention here that this whole device category is only a couple of years old, and as a result, there is a lot of innovation and refinement still ahead of us.

One part to mention here is that in our opinion Vapor Cups with a Bubbler are more similar to E Rigs than they are to Vapor Cups. The bubbler makes the device more obvious as a direct consumption device, so you can’t just leave it up as part of the decor like you can do with the discreet-looking Zenco Duo.

In summary, while having the choice to upgrade to a Vapor Hydration Cup or bubbler is beneficial and offered by most Vapor Cup manufacturers, the inclusion of these accessories in the box puts the Sipper in direct competition with the best E Rigs that already come with bubblers. When compared to the E Rig segment, the manufacturing quality of the Sipper falls short. Therefore, we prefer Vapor Cups that offer the option to upgrade with a bubbler while providing a regular glass cup out of the box.

Battery life and capacity of the Sipper Vaporizer for wax

Battery Life

The Pulsar Sipper is powered by a 1500mAh battery that can last for several sessions on a single charge. When compared to others in its category, it’s on the lower end in terms of capacity.

The battery can be recharged via a USB-C cable which is becoming the standard for most Wax Vaporizers. The device also has a battery indicator light that shows you how much power is left. The lights will go as follows:

-Flashing Green =  100%
-Flashing Blue = 70-30% Battery Left
-Flashing Red = 30% – 0%

Pulsar has also included the standard Auto Off function, which will turn the Hydrator Cup off after 10 minutes of inactivity, essentially saving battery when you forget to turn the device off.

Since most Vapor Cups currently have Triple Coil Heating Elements, battery life won’t be a problem until more advanced heating systems are introduced. However, the Pulsar falls on the lower end of the battery power spectrum, which doesn’t leave us too impressed.

Ease of use of the Sipper bubbler

Ease of Use

The Sipper Hydrator Cup features a single button that can be confusing since a single touch-button controls all functions. But, once you grasp how it works, the unit isn’t complicated. The only issue arises when you’re in the dark and need to locate the touch button without any tactile feedback.

Here is how the controls work:

-5 Consecutive Taps = Power On or OFF
-3 Consecutive Taps= Adjust Voltage Setting (Indicated via LED color)
-2 Consecutive Taps = Engage 30-Second Auto Fan

Cleaning is somewhat simple when it comes to maintaining the device since the heating element can be soaked in rubbing alcohol for a few minutes. It will never be like new, but it will be almost there. Similar to other coil-based heating elements or chambers, they tend to accumulate residue more quickly and become more challenging to clean over time. Nonetheless, they are affordable to replace, so keeping a few new ones on hand is wise. Since certain concentrates can be costly, treating oneself to a fresh heating coil is unbeatable.

Glass cups can go in the dishwasher, but remember that Hydrator cups tend to get dirtier faster and have more corners that the dishwasher can’t reach. This is because water traps particles and gunk from the vapor, sticking them to the walls. Cleaning a hydrator cup, like the Sipper, is more like cleaning a bubbler than simply putting it in the dishwasher. Using a purifying cleaning solution is much better in that situation. That’s why, in general, we prefer using a Glass Cup for daily use instead of the hydrator cup. The dishwasher will handle the tough cleaning for the glass cups.

Overall experience with the Pulsar sipper hydrator cup for 510 threaded cartridges

Overall Experience

The Pulsar Sipper is a decently built, mid-ranged Hydrator Cup that can provide smooth sessions for concentrate enthusiasts.

The single-touch button will take some getting used to. That being said, it provides a unique 4.2V max temperature which gets you the dense but less flavorful vapor among vapor cups. The Pulsar Sipper is well-crafted and has a stylish design most users will appreciate.

When comparing the Vapor Quality of the device to other units in its category, we can see its not quite as flavorful as the Omegatron but beats a lower-end design like the Hidr8 Ola. For users who are hell-bent on Quality flavour and Portability, you might want to look at the Best Wax Pens.

The “Sipper” is more of a “hitter” than a sipper, which is ironic. The Hydrator cup is definitely a solid option if you prefer smoothness over all else.
