The Arizer Solo 2 vs Mighty is the portable vaporizer title bout everyone has been waiting for. Which of these monsters will be the best Portable Vaporizer?
The Arizer Solo 2 is one of the newest vaporizers on the block, and today were going to put it up against one of the best performing portables of all time, the Mighty by Storz and Bickel. For reasons we’ve covered in our Mighty vape review, the Mighty is known for delivering some seriously impressive vapor, and were wondering if the Solo 2 can give it a run for its money. Lets find out in this Arizer Solo 2 vs Mighty showdown.
As far as portables go, these are two of the best when it comes to vapor quality.
The Arizer Solo 2 offers smooth and flavorful vapor thanks to a great design. The heating element is ceramic, which distributes heat evenly, and the chamber is stainless steel.
The rest of the vapor pathway is just a long glass stem, which helps to cool it down before reaching your mouth. The experience is almost exactly the same as it was with the original Solo, but the airflow is greatly improved in my opinion. Overall, the vapor is excellent.
There are a few portables that also offer vapor on the level of the Solo 2s, but almost none that can outperform it.
The Mighty Vaporizer does. This is despite the fact that there is a decent amount of plastic involved in its vapor pathway.
The Mightys convection based vapor is as flavorful as you will find in any portable, and it also packs a powerful punch. Youre pretty much guaranteed to enjoy the vapor from either of these, but the Mightys is better.
Manufacturing Quality
These are two of the best-built vaporizers on the market as well.
The Solo 2 is brand new and offers several improvements over its predecessors already great design. For starters, the Solo 2 now has a battery capable of up to 3 hours of use, which is a ridiculous battery life for a portable vaporizer.
It also has a digital screen and full temperature control. While it hasnt been out long enough to know for sure how durable it is, it’s safe to expect a long life based on the original Solos performance.
The Mighty has been on the market for a lot longer than the Solo 2, and it has aged very well. The manufacturing is top-notch and it also offers convection heating, a digital display and full temperature control.
There are two batteries inside the Mighty, which combine to deliver about 1.5 hours of use. Battery life seems to be a mixed bag based on user reviews, but the unit is extremely well built overall.
Neither one of these is a clear winner over the other. The quality of the affordable Flowermate Slick is far better and has a more sleek look to its design, a good purchase for any connoisseurs.
Ease of Use
Using the Solo 2 is as simple as filling the chamber and turning it on. There are buttons to adjust the temperature up and down by the exact degree, and a digital display to show you what youve chosen.
It heats up extremely quickly too. All in all, its a great blend of being easy to use and versatile.
The same can be said for the Mighty. The buttons for changing the temperature are big and theres really no mistaking how to use it. In addition, the usage of Mighty capsules for the Mighty makes cleanup a tad bit easier compared to the Solo 2.
These are both excellent choices for beginners and experienced connoisseurs alike, but the Mighty is just a bit easier thanks to the big, clear buttons. If you’re looking for something that’s more swift, you could try checking out the Zeus Arc GT with its 90 minutes battery backup.
Portability
The Solo 2 is more portable than the original Solo thanks to a slight decrease in overall size, but the glass stem still prevents it from being considered convenient to carry.
The stem means youll have two different pieces to carry with you, and it is also a piece that can easily break in an accident. On the plus side, the Solo 2 does offer an incredibly long battery life, and it comes with a carrying case.
Even though the Mighty has a shorter battery life, I think its more portable than the Solo 2. It all comes down to that glass stem. The Mighty is one whole piece and can be slipped inside a bag without there being a big risk of breaking anything. This is much more convenient and that’s why it wins this round of the Arizer Solo 2 vs Mighty showdown. You could also have a look at the younger brother of the DaVinci line up, the DaVinci Miqro if you’re looking for smaller sessions and micro-dosing.
Battery Life
The Solo 2 is the clear winner in this category. It offers up to double the performance of the Mightys 1.5 hours of use.
If you have never owned a portable before, you may not realize how impressive the Solo 2s 3 hour battery life is.
We have not seen a battery this good since the Zeus Arc was released and there are not many others out their that can boast the same.
Discreetness
The glass stem also keeps the Solo 2 from being all that discreet. When you are holding the base, the stem is still completely exposed.
You can always put the base in a cup so the stem looks like a straw, but there are a lot of units that offer similar discretion without any extra work thanks to a smaller size.
The Mightys problem is its overall size. Its too big to consider it as a good option when you are worried about maintaining a low profile. I dont think that either of these vaporizers perform well in this category. For a much more discreet alternative, check out the Crafty Vaporizer.
Temperature Flexibility
Both the Solo 2 and the Mighty offer a digital display and full temperature control to the exact degree. The Solo has a slight edge, however, thanks to a slightly higher upper limit of 428F.
This upper part of its temperature range is outside of what most people would choose to vape at, but there are others who enjoy and value it. If you’re looking for an on-demand heating system, then try checking out the Dynavap M to get amazing sessions from every herb used.
SHOWDOWN
The Mighty is our winner, but the Solo 2 put in a very impressive showing in this round of the Mighty vs Solo 2 showdown.
The Mightys biggest strength is the unbeatable vapor quality for a portable. The Solo 2 does amazing as well, dont get me wrong, but the Mighty is a small step ahead. If you are looking for the best flavor and most vapor output a portable can deliver, it is hard to look past the Mighty.
I think the Solo 2s biggest strength when compared to the Mighty is the battery life. Three hours is almost unbelievable, and it makes me excited to see what future portables from other manufacturers may offer. But there will be a bigger cost of ownership over time if you are constantly replacing the glass parts.
When you factor in the price difference between these two units, the decision becomes even harder.
If you buy either of these, you will likely be very happy with the purchase.
If you are convinced the Mighty is the right unit for you, be sure to pick one up from our store.
