As some of you connoisseurs might already know, once youre finished with a session with your Arizer Solo 2 or H-alizer, your botanical is not done working for you. You can use it again as ABV to get a second use of your botanical like we mentioned in our ABV Recipes post. This is great news for all you connoisseurs on a budget. That being said, sometimes it can be a bit difficult to figure out what to do with your supply of ABV especially if youre regularly strapped for time. To help all you out there who find yourself in this predicament, we have a simple way to use your leftovers that will make it easy to enjoy it with almost any meal! Its time to turn your ABV into a spice!

The Chemistry
Your botanicals essential oils and compounds are all locked away inside of your botanical in a state thats more or less useless to you in their natural state. Thats because that natural state is an acid, something our bodies cant do much with in the amounts usually used for a vaporizing session. Once its been heated up, the compounds you want to enjoy are heated and converted into a form you body can process and turned into vapor that can be inhaled. Once your session is over, theres still some compounds left in the botanical, and because those compounds have been heated they’ve been converted to a compound your body can process that you can enjoy by eating it.
The Materials
The first thing youll need is a supply of botanical thats already been through a vaporizing session. Whenever youre done a session, take the remaining botanical and store it in an air-tight container. Once you have enough, youll need a pepper grinder. Youll want to avoid pepper shakers because youre looking to make use of the pepper grinders ability to crush the contents of the grinder into an almost powder-like consistency. Once you have those two things, load your ABV into the grinder and get ready for some good times!
The Application
This is where things can get a bit tricky. Its hard to know exactly where youll want to use your new spice and there are 2 answers to that question. The short answer is everywhere you possibly can. The long answer is where the tasty, nutty flavor would work best. That can be a bit difficult to sort out, but youll get the hang of where to apply this spice the more you use it. Here are a few ideas to get you started:
Pasta This works well mostly because of the tomato sauce. There should already be some fat in the sauce, which will only help your cause since the compounds are lipophilic, and the spices used in the sauce should work really well with your new spice!
Eggs You can either throw it into the pan as you melt some butter to keep the eggs from sticking or you can just grind it right on top after youve finished making them. Youd be surprised how well the flavor of ABV works with eggs be they scrambled or fried.
Bacon Is there ever a bad time for bacon? We can answer that for you. No! The addition of a little of your new spice, right as your bacon comes out of the pan, makes for a great treat as pork responds well to savory spices.
