The FocusVape is a pen-style vaporizer designed for dry herbs and manufactured by iFocus Technology. There have been a lot of new vaporizers being introduced over the past couple of years, so you are forgiven if you assume this is just another manufacturer trying to make some money off of their current popularity.<\/p>\n

The truth is that the Focus V Original is actually pretty innovative, offering a blend of features that we have never seen in a single vape before. It works very well, delivering smooth vapor with good flavor. One of the features that we love is the adjustable airflow, which really lets you customize the experience to your exact preferences.<\/p>\n

Update: <\/strong>iFocus has also released the Focus V Pro<\/a>, the design and functionality of the Pro is the same as the original Focus V but it features an LED display and precise temperature control. This gives users a bit more control over their vapor quality when compared to the Focus V Original while offering the same great quality and feel. The Pro also does not include the external battery charger, it simply charges through micro USB.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The Focus V Original turns on with four clicks of the power button, and then temperatures options are toggled through by clicking the same button an additional two times. The heating chamber is accessed by removing the mouthpiece, which easily screws back into place.<\/p>\n

Speaking of the mouthpiece, there is an additional accessory that adapts the Focus V Original for use with water pipes. The adapter is tapered, meaning it can be used with multiple stem sizes. Even if you don\u2019t plan on using this, it\u2019s a pretty cool option to come with the base unit.<\/p>\n

As mentioned above, the airflow control is also a really useful feature. It works by twisting a piece in the middle of the vaporizer that uncovers holes as you move it. You can choose to have between one and three holes active at a time. This will affect draw size, vapor temperature, and draw speed. If you aren\u2019t familiar with other portable vaporizers, this may not seem like a big deal to you, but experienced vape users can attest to the fact that there are many otherwise great units that suffer from overly restricted airflow like the LITL 1<\/a>. While extended use at the highest setting may cause combustion, a single session does not appear to cause any problems like this. The vapor that the Focus V Original puts out is smooth and flavorful, and the temperature isn\u2019t bad either. You can use the water bubbler to cool down the hot vapors even further. Users that prefer stronger and smoother vapors usually tend to like units like the Mighty Vaporizer<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The quality of this vaporizer is definitely above average, with well-machined parts and high quality materials. The mouthpiece is pyrex glass moutpiece, the heating chamber is ceramic like the Flowermate Slick<\/a>, and the exterior cover is made from a silica gel that is both heat and scratch resistant.<\/p>\n

This unit also seems built to last. The only piece that is even remotely fragile is the glass mouthpiece, but you get 2 of them with the unit so you are covered in case an accident happens. <\/div>

Battery Life<\/h3>\n

The Focus V Original uses a 2500mAh LG High Drain battery, which will give you great battery life. The battery is also removable, meaning you can purchase extras to swap in when the other dies. Although It is not as high as the 3500mah you find on premium budget conduction devices, like the\u00a0Zeus Arc S hub<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Focus V Original can be charged with the included micro usb cable and even featues pass-through charging, which means you can use your vape while it is plugged in!<\/p>\n

Our only complaint is that the unit does seem to take a long time to charge, we found roughly 4 – 5 hours when completely dead. Some users who hate waiting for the battery recharge when they are craving for a vape usually to tend to prefer units like the V5 Nano Vaporizer<\/a> that features a replaceable battery, that can be changed with a new one as soon as it is dead.\u00a0 <\/div>

Portability is exactly what you would expect. It’s not the smallest vape on the market, but it’s small enough that you shouldn\u2019t have any difficulty finding somewhere to carry it.<\/p>\n

The relative durability of this unit also means you won\u2019t have to worry all that much about breaking it while you are carrying it around in your bag or pocket, but we would recommend a dedicated Zeus vaporizer case<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The ability to keep extra batteries makes this a great option for people who take extended trips away from electricity, like hiking and camping adventures.<\/p>\n

Users looking for an easy to pocket devices may want to look at the Utillian 722<\/a> for a better portable option.<\/p>\n<\/div>

With just one button and not a lot of moving parts, the Focus V Original is very easy to use similar to the Utillian 722<\/a>.<\/p>\n

You\u2019ll want to experiment with temperature levels and airflow settings when you first get it to find your own individual sweet spot, but once you do the vape has an internal memory that allows it to automatically revert to the last temperature setting used.<\/p>\n

There\u2019s even vibration alerts that will let you know when the unit has fully heated! <\/div>

This is a category where pen vapes do notoriously well, and this is also true of the Focus V Original.<\/p>\n

The size and shape of this particular vaporizer is a lot like many of the others on the market, which has the effect of allowing them to just blend in.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s a little too big to completely hide in your hand, but you can always slip it into a pocket if the need arises. Users that prefer smaller and more discreet units prefer devices like the Zeus Arc<\/a> which can easily hide in the palm of one’s hand and easy to pocket as well.<\/div>

This is a great vaporizer and definitely a good buy for the money. While pen vapes are a dime a dozen these days, the Focus V Original manages to blend a unique range of features into a very effective package that helps set it apart from its competitors.<\/p>\n

Some of the coolest features are the adjustable airflow and the tapered water pipe adapter. Besides these, the unit covers all the base functionality you would expect from a vaporizer while delivering smooth and flavorful vapor.<\/p>\n

The Focus V is also compatible with the latest Utillian Glass Bubbler<\/a> so definitely check that out if water-filtration is your thing.<\/p>\n

We have no problem recommending the FocusVape and if you are looking to pick one up you can get yours here, but always make sure to research and do your due diligence.
