Today we\u2019re going to compare it to the ultra portable, pretty <\/span>Pax 3<\/b><\/a> and see which one comes out on top – so let\u2019s get right to it and dive into these two potent portables!<\/span><\/div>\n

\"UtillianVapor Quality<\/h3>\n
\n

The 722\u2019s convection heating and wide open airflow lend themselves to some delicious, free flowing vapor. It comes with 4 preset temperature settings – the bottom two are great for flavor, the top two are great for cloud production, and the boost mode top temperature of 225 can extract with the best of them.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Pax 3 features conduction heating and a stainless steel heating chamber. The flavor from the Pax 3 starts out tasty, but drops off very quickly. It also features 4 preset temperature settings and a fifth is customizable if you have the app. However, the top temperature of the Pax 3 is 215C and compared to the boost mode temperature of 225C on the 722, it won\u2019t extract as well.<\/span><\/p>\n

We also found there\u2019s a more even cooking of your herbs with the convection based heating of the Utillian 722 when stacked up against the conduction chamber of the Pax. I would even argue the<\/span><\/p>\n

The 722 wins this category with clean tasting, hard hitting vapor.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"Utillian<\/h3>\n

Manufacturing Quality<\/h3>\n

The Utillian 722 is built well, with a sprayed aluminum finish on the gunmetal grey model and a lightly rubberized on the black model. The rubberized finish makes the unit easier to grip and handle, but the gunmetal grey looks sexier in my opinion. The convection heating chamber and overall look of the device are awesome and the construction quality is superb.<\/span><\/p>\n

But of course, the Pax 3 is built well. The biggest difference between the 2 and the 3 model was the glossy finish on the 3, and while it does look good, it picks up fingerprints like Sgt. Doakes looking for Dexter. Too dated of a reference? Whatever, Dexter\u2019s coming back, get over it. Other than that the build quality is the same as the Pax 2 – it\u2019s good, don\u2019t get me wrong, but I\u2019m very much excited for the next model. Let\u2019s get away from the bottom loading, uneven cooking conduction chamber and while I\u2019m being picky, a higher top temperature.<\/span><\/p>\n

This one goes to the Utillian 722.<\/span><\/p>\n

Battery Life<\/h3>\n

The Pax 3 has a big battery, to be sure. 3500mah of battery to be exact and repeat myself. The 722s battery will last you 60 minutes, to be sure.<\/span><\/p>\n

Something to note though – the proprietary charging cradle of the Pax 3 is a lot harder to find when you\u2019re out and about than any old microUSB cable, which is what the 722 uses to charge. Just saying.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Either way, bring a battery pack and you\u2019re good with either of these devices.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

Portability<\/h3>\n
\n

The Pax 3 is up there with the best of the portable devices. With its 3500 mah battery, it can certainly last you a full day of sessions. Its size also lends itself to portability – if you\u2019re not worried about scratching that nice shiny finish up.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Utillian 722 is also an excellent portable partner, with 60 minutes of continuous use, a swivel mouthpiece to tuck in when you need to put it in a pocket, and a sturdy shell that will resist bumps and scrapes.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Pax 3 edges out the 722 in the portability category.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

\"Utillian<\/h3>\n

Ease of Use<\/h3>\n
\n

Using the Pax 3 is simple. Press the mouthpiece down to turn it on, press and hold the same button to enter temperature selection mode, and press the button to toggle through the options.<\/span><\/p>\n

The only pain in the ass is that bottom loading – I know, I really hate on it, but I just don\u2019t like it.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Press the 722\u2019s button 5 times rapidly to turn it on, twice to change between temperatures, and it will automatically heat up. It\u2019s also super simple to use. Press and hold the power button to quickly ramp the temperature up to 225C, perfect for getting the most out of your herbs.<\/span><\/p>\n

The 722 just edges out the Pax 3 because its much easier to get vapor from the start with the 722.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Discreetness<\/h3>\n

Look, I\u2019m not going to sit here and argue the Utillian 722 is more discreet than the tiny little Pax 3. Except I am, cause that\u2019s my job.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The 722 can fit into any pocket or bag, has a swivel mouthpiece and resembles a portable charger – okay maybe I\u2019m reaching.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Pax 3 is clearly very discreet, it\u2019s small and fits in the hand well. The low key mouthpiece is an added bonus, just like the one on the Zeus Arc.<\/span><\/p>\n

This one goes to the Pax 3.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

Temperature Flexibility<\/h3>\n

The Utillian 722 has four temperature settings <\/span>180\u00b0C, 190\u00b0C, 200\u00b0C, 210\u00b0C, which will give you a good range to work within to vaporize your herbs.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The boost mode on the 722 vaporizer will push the unit to its maximum temperature 225\u00b0C.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Pax 3 also has four temperature settings 182C, 193C, 204C, and 215C, with an option of a fifth customizable temperature between the top and bottom temps if you download the app.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Utillian 722 has a higher top temperature which is going to give it the edge for full extraction.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

Overall Experience<\/h3>\n

Both of these devices are certainly easy to use, well made, and give solid vapor. They are both certainly in the top tier of portables. In my opinion they are used for different things.<\/span><\/p>\n

If you care about a top tier build quality and delicious convection vapor, grab the Utillian 722 vaporizer<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

If you\u2019re all about the travels, the Pax 3<\/a> might be your guy. Just bring that charging cradle around with you, cause that\u2019s really your only option to recharge it.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The 722 is also pretty portable though, so I really don\u2019t know with this one. The 722 is also significantly cheaper than the Pax 3, just putting that on the table.<\/span><\/p>\n
