VLab is relatively new into the world of e-rig vaporizers and they\u2019re making a splash with their competitively priced e-rig, the VLab Halo. The Halo offers some premium features at a reasonable price and we were very excited to get our hands on this e-rig and try it out for our review! Read on to learn more.<\/div>\n

How it Works<\/h3>\n

As with any device, we highly recommend charging it fully before your first use. First, as with any e-rig, remove the bubbler from the device and fill it up with water, then reattach it. Then press the power button five times rapidly to turn the device on.<\/p>\n

Press the power button three times rapidly to change temperatures, drop your concentrate into the chamber and then press and hold the power button to initiate heating. The Halo will vibrate when it reaches temperature and the light will go solid.<\/p>\n

Work the carb cap for better airflow during your inhalation. In order to turn the device off, press the power button twice rapidly.<\/p>\n

\"VLabTemperature Flexibility<\/h3>\n

The Halo has three temperature settings to work with – green is 480F or 250C, blue is 600F or 315C, and red is 750F or 400C.<\/p>\n

I found that these temperatures are good for extraction and not too hot. 750F is almost as high as I will ever go with concentrates, and I didn\u2019t find it to be overwhelming for my throat. The green and blue temperature settings were pleasant and provided a great amount of vapor.<\/p>\n

Vapor Quality<\/h3>\n

The VLab Halo can produce some serious vapor. It doesn\u2019t mess around, I got some decent rips off this guy. The flavor is what you\u2019d expect from a device this price – it\u2019s not astounding, but the flavor is there and the vapor is pretty good!<\/p>\n

The quartz bucket I found better for flavor and the ceramic better for vapor production, but if I\u2019m honest, they both performed pretty well. The coil underneath the bucket does a great job of evenly cooking throughout the bowl.<\/p>\n

The water did a good job of cooling the vapor down, and I found both bottom settings to be pleasant. The highest is not my cup of tea, but as I said, it wasn\u2019t overwhelming on the throat and a top temperature of 750F is great, in my opinion.<\/p>\n

It wasn\u2019t as tasty or as cloud-pumping as the Focus V Carta<\/a>, but hey, we can\u2019t all be winners.<\/p>\n

Manufacturing Quality<\/h3>\n

When we heard that VLab was releasing an e-rig for $150 USD, we were skeptical. The technology is relatively new and to be able to offer it at this price must mean they cut some corners. However, right out of the box I was impressed – I liked the look, I liked the design and the profile is nice and small.<\/p>\n

The VLab Halo is on the lighter side, but is sturdy on a table and won\u2019t get knocked over easily. In terms of important parts, the coil under the bucket is decent and works well. The atomizer connects easily to the base of the device and it\u2019s easy to switch buckets. I like that it came with a carb cap tether.<\/p>\n

There are, however, some loose parts in the device, which is unfortunate – when you shake the device you can hear them rattle around. And the power button is a little less solid than I\u2019d like it to be – seems like a small note, but I noticed it.<\/p>\n

If I were to compare it to another device, it would probably be the Core<\/a>. For an extra $50USD, you get more atomizers, more kit and a travel case – not to mention the fact that the vapor production is higher.<\/p>\n

I will say I haven\u2019t had the device for very long and I\u2019m still a little skeptical on its longevity because of these small things. However, I don\u2019t know that for sure and I\u2019m still doing research on this (i.e. using it as much as I can). <\/div><\/div>

\"VLabBattery Life<\/h3>\n

I have not been able to find any accurate data on the actual battery life of the VLab Halo, however, it claims to be able to handle about 35 cycles before needing a recharge.<\/p>\n

I found in practice I could get between 25-30 sessions, and it recharges via a USB-C cable, so I had no real complaints there. It charges back up quite fast and lasts me as long as I need it to. <\/div><\/div>

\"VLab<\/h3>\n

Portability<\/h3>\n

The VLab Halo does not come with a carrying case of any kind, and just like most other e-rigs I wouldn\u2019t necessarily recommend you take it on the go. It\u2019s on the lighter side and doesn\u2019t make me feel confident in taking it around. If you\u2019re looking for a portable alternative to an e-rig,<\/p>\n

I would take a look at the Utillian 5<\/a> and glass bubbler<\/a>. A fan favorite, it gets the job done wherever you happen to be – and the two items combined are still less than the VLab Halo. <\/div><\/div>

\"VLab<\/h3>\n

Ease of Use<\/h3>\n

The VLab Halo works like any other e-rig on the market. It\u2019s simple to operate and use, and I figured it out without reading the manual. Except for turning it off. That took me too long to do, and like a classic man, I decided not to read the manual until I was ready to break some stuff.<\/p>\n

VLab makes a claim that it features smart touch power sensor operation, which, as far as I can tell, means nothing. It\u2019s easy to use, sure, but it has a button just like every other e-rig. Nothing complicated or new. But again, simple to use and operate, I had no complaints in this department. <\/div><\/div>

\"VLabOverall Experience<\/h3>\n

The VLab Halo is a solid device. The vapor quality is good, the construction is okay, but for the price, I wouldn\u2019t have expected Focus V Carta levels of the build. You can rip some serious clouds on this guy.<\/p>\n

Overall, I thought it was worth the price, but if you\u2019ve got a couple of extra bucks to throw around, I would take a look at some devices with a couple more features.<\/p>\n
