How it Works<\/h3>\n

Not unlike many budget units, the Avant powers on with 3 clicks of the button in quick succession, while the temperature can be changed by holding the same button for a few seconds. Load up the device with medium-fine ground herb-packed down slightly.<\/p>\n

Once the Avant reaches the desired temperature, take a long slow draw to get to your desired state of mind!\"Xvape<\/p>\n

Temperature Flexibility<\/h3>\n

With 5 temperature presets to choose between, you get a pretty good range. Marked at 365\/374\/392\/410\/428\u00b0F, or 185\/190\/200\/210\/220\u00b0C, you get reasonably good customization. And here you can compare this pocket dynamite with Zeus Arc GTS Hub<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Still, not quite as good as full temperature control and we would\u2019ve really like to see more variety in the range. With bottom temperatures around 20 degrees less, we would\u2019ve seen much better control over the experience.<\/p>\n

Vapor Quality<\/h3>\n

For a budget device, it could be better. It uses a typical ceramic heating chamber we see on most entry-level vaporizers.<\/p>\n

The vapor path is rather short and the vapor is a bit warm on the lungs, will the draw is a bit restricted and the flavor is okay at best.<\/p>\n

flavour drops off after the first 2-3 hits and you\u2019re left with a roasty popcorn flavor. For what it is, the vapor quality is below average and don\u2019t expect to be shooting out plumes of vapor. At its price point, we would recommend checking out the Utillian 421<\/a> which offers a better budget option.<\/p>\n

In fact, the best description we can offer for the vapor quality is it\u2019s whelming. Not overwhelming, not under, just whelming.\u00a0<\/div><\/div><\/span>

\"Xvape<\/h3>\n

Manufacturing Quality<\/h3>\n

We found the quality of the Avant a bit lacking unlike the LITL 1<\/a> which too is a budget vaporizer. Full metal and ceramic construction lend you the confidence you won\u2019t be inhaling any plastic fumes, but it feels a bit cheap in the hand. We\u2019re not quite so fond of the lettering stamped on the device as it does dirty up the aesthetic a bit.<\/p>\n

The Avant ships with a basic kit consisting of the device itself, mouthpiece, charging cable, basic cleaning kit, spare screens, and user manual.\"Xvape<\/p>\n

\"XvapeBattery Life<\/h3>\n

With only 1200mAh in the Xvape battery, you won\u2019t be getting many sessions out until you need to top up. Expect around 3-5 sessions from a full charge, depending on your use habits. Users who prefer longer sessions tend to prefer units with longer battery life like the Solo 2<\/a> that gives around 14 to 17 sessions depending on the temperature settings.<\/p>\n

This isn\u2019t very impressive by any means, but about what you\u2019d expect from an entry-level device.\u00a0<\/div><\/div><\/span>

Portability<\/h3>\n

Thanks to its slim form factor and compact nature, the Avant portable is really ideal for taking out on the go similar to the Zeus Arc GTS Hub<\/a>.<\/p>\n

It fits comfortably in the pocket and small enough for it to be barely noticed. <\/div><\/div>

\"Xvape<\/p>\n

Ease of Use<\/h3>\n

Entry level units typically don\u2019t ship jam-packed with features and the Avant doesn\u2019t either. Though that does give the unit more simple and easy to use for beginners, which isn\u2019t a bad thing by any means. However, users looking for still more options in an entry level vaporizer tend to prefer units like the Utillian 420 Vaporizer.<\/p>\n

Getting good results will require some coaching with the Avant when letting your friends or strangers use the device.<\/p>\n

Cleaning is quite straightforward, as the chamber can be cleaned with a cotton swab dipped in isopropyl alcohol and the mouthpiece can be cleaned simply by submerging it in iso and gently agitating for a few minutes. Rinse with water and perform a burn-off session before loading up with herb again! <\/div><\/div>

\"Xvape<\/h3>\n

Discreetness<\/h3>\n

Smaller than your hand and thin as your average smartphone, it conceals well and the black construction lends more stealth to the device.<\/p>\n

Though it takes a while to heat up and the odor will definitely be noticeable, it\u2019s pretty good for on the go discretion. However, users that prefer devices that produce little to no smell usually tend to like convection based devices like the Utillian Utillian 722 vaporizer<\/a>.<\/div><\/div>

\"XvapeOverall Experience<\/h3>\n

Though the Avant doesn\u2019t really bring anything special to the table and its performance is a bit lacking even for a first timer. If you’re in the market for a more full-featured device that offers precise temperature control, check out the Xmax Starry v3 vaporizer<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The small design and relatively lackluster vapor output make it a unit we wouldn’t recommend for those on a tight budget and would advise checking out something like the Utillian 421<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Don\u2019t expect to be blown away by the performance or battery life, however. You get what you pay for, and if you really want to have top-notch performance in a small package, check out the Zeus Arc GTS Hub<\/a>\u00a0instead.<\/p>\n
