How it Works<\/h3>\n

The functionality of the Yocan Evolve C is very simple. The base is just a 650mAh battery with a single button. The top has a 510 thread, and this connection is used for both attaching your atomizers and charging it.<\/span><\/p>\n

There are two atomizer options. The first is a single quartz coil for thicker waxes and concentrates. The second is a tank that you fill from the top with oils or e-liquids.<\/span><\/p>\n

Once your atomizer is attached to the base, a cover slides over the top. This is only a decorative piece.<\/span><\/p>\n

To actually use the Evolve C, you just click the button five times to turn it on and then press and hold that button to take a draw.<\/span><\/div><\/div>

\"YocanTemperature Flexibility<\/h3>\n

The Evolve C doesn\u2019t offer any temperature flexibility at all. The battery is either engaged or it is not. The wax atomizer has a 1 ohm resistance and the oil tank has a 1.2 ohm resistance. <\/span><\/p>\n

I couldn\u2019t find information about the power output, but my guess based on using it is that the voltage output simply varies based on the battery\u2019s charge level. Users looking for temperature flexibility usually tend to prefer devices like the Yocan Uni Pro<\/a>.<\/span> <\/span><\/div><\/div>

Vapor Quality<\/h3>\n

The vapor quality is good for what this pen is. You can\u2019t pick this up and expect hard-hitting draws as you could get with the PCKT One Plus<\/span><\/a> or exceptional flavor, but it still gets the job done and is enjoyable to use. <\/span><\/p>\n

When using it for wax, expect light draws with good flavor. Since there is only one coil, you can\u2019t use as much material and the vapor will be very manageable as far as strength goes. If you don\u2019t use waxes often, this may actually be an advantage.<\/span><\/p>\n

With oils, this performs just about the same as most oil pens. The tank is well made, but the results you get will ultimately be more based on the quality of the material than anything. The only thing that would have made it better is fixed voltage options.<\/span><\/p>\n

Manufacturing Quality<\/h3>\n

The manufacturer quality is average. There\u2019s nothing wrong with the Evolve C, but there certainly isn\u2019t anything special about it either. <\/span><\/p>\n

It\u2019s just a run of the mill 650mAh battery that can be connected to two simple atomizer options. There\u2019s no airflow or power control either.<\/span><\/p>\n

On the plus side, it is small and well built. Users looking for a unit that has a premium 510 thread battery and provides high performance usually tend to prefer devices like the Vessel 510 thread battery<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

The battery life is also very much average. 600-750mAh is right what I would consider the middle of the road for a pen-style vape, with some having less than 200mAh and some going up to 1500mAh or more. <\/span><\/p>\n

If you plan on using this all day, you should also be ready to have to charge it. Users that prefer to use just oil pens usually prefer units like the Yocan Uni Pro<\/a>\u00a0that could last for more than a day without any trouble. <\/span><\/span><\/div><\/div>

Portability<\/h3>\n

The portability of this is very good. It\u2019s nice and small but still sturdy enough to carry in your pocket or bag without it breaking similar to the Linx Hermes 3<\/a>. <\/span><\/p>\n

I highly recommend using it with oil if you are concerned about portability because the wax atomizer is so small you\u2019ll be stopping to refill it frequently. <\/span><\/p>\n

The oil tank isn\u2019t huge, but you can at least fill it with enough material to last a good deal longer than the wax option.<\/span><\/div><\/div>

\"Yocan<\/h3>\n

Ease of Use<\/h3>\n

This is extremely easy to use like any other oil pen such as the Tronian Nutron<\/a>. Each atomizer screws directly onto the base. <\/span><\/p>\n

To load the oil tank, you unscrew the mouthpiece from the top. When using it for wax, you access the quartz coil by unscrewing the \u201catomizer tube\u201d from the top of it. <\/span><\/p>\n

Once you have one of the atomizers filled and attached, you just click the button five times to turn it on and then press and hold to take a draw.<\/span><\/p>\n

Discreetness<\/h3>\n

This is very discreet similar to the Smok Micare. On one hand, it is nice and small. You won\u2019t have a hard time keeping it well concealed when holding or using it. The single coil is actually also a good thing in this respect because you won\u2019t have as much visible vapor to exhale. <\/span><\/p>\n

I recommend using it with the oil based setup if discretion is important though because you won\u2019t have to stop and fill it as often.<\/div><\/div>

\"YocanOverall Experience<\/h3>\n

The Yocan Evolve C is a good option for beginners who want to experiment with both oils and waxes.<\/span><\/p>\n

I see it as being a good way to \u201cget your toes wet\u201d when it comes to vaporizing concentrates. It\u2019s affordable and offers a good enough experience that you can get an idea of which material you prefer using. <\/span><\/p>\n

If you end up liking oils, then this may be enough to stick with for a while. The only thing that would really add to your experience is something with variable voltage. <\/span><\/p>\n

If you like waxes more, you\u2019ll probably want to upgrade in short order. The single quartz rod and coil isn\u2019t going to keep you happy for long, especially once you try other options. We’d recommend checking out something like the<\/span> Utillian 5 (V3)<\/a> which uses a ceramic pad rather than an exposed coil.<\/span><\/p>\n

Or you can get a different Yocan Evolve model. I like the Yocan Evolve Plus<\/a> better than the Evolve-C. They have regular old dual quartz coil setups, but they work well.<\/span><\/p>\n
